Leicester City have appointed former Manchester City assistant coach Enzo Maresca as their new manager. The Italian, who has signed a deal until 2024, replaces Brendan Rodgers, who was sacked last week after a poor start to the season.

Maresca has a strong track record in coaching, having helped Manchester City win the Premier League, FA Cup, and League Cup treble in 2019. He also led the club's under-23s to the Premier League 2 title in 2019-20.

Maresca is expected to bring an attacking style of play to Leicester, who have struggled for goals this season. He is likely to adopt a 4-3-3 formation, with James Maddison, Harvey Barnes, and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall playing behind a lone striker.

Leicester are currently 12th in the Premier League table, six points off the top four. Maresca will be tasked with improving the team's form and challenging for a European place next season.
